Position Summary

Prairie State College seeks experienced adjunct faculty to teach CNC Machining/Machinist/Machine technology courses starting Fall 2017. Successful candidates will have a desire to engage a diverse student population in various levels of machinist/CNC programming/operations. Machinery at the college we use are : Haas/Southwestern industries/Pro-lite. G-coding knowledge and conversational language with all machines. Successful candidate will be able to have flexible teaching schedule. Classes meet one day week for sixteen weeks; Current section time for Fall 2017 is Wednesday evenings from 6pm-9:40pm.

Courses will include instruction in:
1. CNC Milling programming/operation
2. CNC Turning programming/operation
3. Drill press and surface grinding operations
4. Manual lathe and Mill operation
5. Machining and Machinist techniques

Minimum Qualifications

1) Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, industrial technology, or industrial education with an emphasis in the field taught and three (3) years of successful work experience in the field; or

2) Associate’s degree in the field and five (5) years of successful work experience in the field; or

3) Journeyman’s status in the field and five (5) years of successful work experience in the field.
