Position Summary

Provide service for clients of the Conference Center including student groups, faculty, staff, and external groups hosting meetings, workshops, rehearsals, stage performances, conferences, fundraisers and celebrations.

Reporting Relationship

Directly reports to the Manager Conference Center and Community Services.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Set-up meeting rooms for events held in the Conference Center including moving tables weighing 50 pounds and chairs regularly.

2. Set-up and test audio visual equipment to ensure equipment is functioning properly. Must be able to troubleshoot equipment.

3. Answer inquiries from the general public regarding events being held on campus.

4. Inventory, and return all equipment to the proper storage area.

5. Inform supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment and materials that need to be replaced.

6. Provide excellent customer service for clients of the Conference Center. Be a good listener, take notes, ask questions, and make recommendations to enhance quality, add value and achieve customer satisfaction.

7. Accept payments of rental fees from clients as required and provide to supervisor

8. Assemble and distribute sales material to potential clients with courtesy and professionalism.

9. Answer phone calls and in-person inquiries from the public.

10. Compile spreadsheet data on attendance.

11. Work cooperatively with PSC Campus Police to ensure the safety of clients and security of the facility.

12. Coordinate requests for reciprocity discounts.

13. Assist in marketing of the Conference Center including posting marketing flyers on television monitors, social media posts to include Facebook, twitter, Instagram, etc. and works cooperatively with PSC’s Public Relations and Marketing department as needed.

14. Assist audio visual technicians to set up equipment. Track inventory and inform staff when supplies need to be ordered, and equipment or facilities need repair

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Must be in good physical condition, ability to lift 50 pounds, move tables and chairs regularly.

Employee utilizes variety of audiovisual equipment, including microphones, lap top computers, tables, chairs, ladders, musical instruments, rolling coat racks, pipe and drape system, carts, and stanchions.

Minimum Qualifications

1 .High School Diploma.
2. One (1) year of customer service experience.
3. Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Social Media Outlets.
6. Ability to work a varied schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Associates Degree.
2. Experience using personal computer operating systems, presentation software, and hardware.
